This course provides a comprehensive understanding of Biochemistry and its relevance to oral and general health. It covers the structure, function, and metabolism of biomolecules such as carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, hemoglobin, and plasma proteins. Students will explore the role of enzymes, vitamins, minerals, and hormones in biochemical reactions and physiological functions. The course also includes topics on energy metabolism, nutrition, liver and renal function tests, and inborn errors of metabolism, emphasizing their clinical significance in diagnosing and managing diseases.
In this project, you’ll model user activity data for a music streaming app called Sparkify. You’ll create a relational database and ETL pipeline designed to optimize queries for understanding what songs users are listening to. In PostgreSQL you will also define Fact and Dimension tables and insert data into your new tables.
